Actually, project may be overstating it a bit. Here's what happened. I was in George Town, Penang photographing a soon to be opened boutique hotel for this award winning group . The hotel is located on Armenian Street near the "Thieves Market" which as you might expect draws an 'interesting' crowd.
So in one of those 'duh' moments, I get the bright idea to bring the gear out to the street to see who might be into a quickie portrait. I set up and like some corner evangelist start asking perfect strangers if they would mind a few moments of abuse.
My first subjects were a couple of brave souls on holiday from Kuala Selangar.

The reaction was mixed. These guys asked if money was involved and when
I said 'no' they said 'sure' (I assume they thought I was going to
charge them..).
Some take naturally to the camera.
..and some brought their own..
This guy is a pedicab driver that usually hangs out at the other end of Armenian street.
This would probably be my reaction too.
Emboldened, I head over to 'Little India' to see what I might encounter.
At this stage I'm not sure where I am going with this or if I even have the basis for a project. I thought I would throw if out there and see what people have to think. I will be back in Penang in the weeks to come and I will see where it goes from there.
Thanks for looking.
